What is it?

Political simulations, events, interviews, and conferences of international character. In particular:

• A Model European Union (MEU) is a political simulation of EU policymaking, where participants get to play the roles of Members of the Council, of the Parliament, Commissioners, Legal Advisors, Journalists, and many more.

• A G20 Simulation is a political simulation of the decisional processes that take place during a G20 Summit.

My role:

• MEUs: I participated in 6 MEUs in different roles: Participant (1), Chair (2), Commissioner (1), Director General (2). In all occasions I collaborated with and/or led an international team and engaged with currect EU issues and polilcies, and gained experience both in presence and in online context. In particular, as a Director General I managed the whole event and project cycle; as a Commissioner, I was responsible for researching and explaining, as well as lobbying for a particular EU law; as a Chair, I was responsible for moderating the debates among participants and ensuring the respect of the schedule and rules of procedure.

• G20: I was one of the three organizers of an online G20 Simulation in the context of the Hikma Summit of International Relations 2020. My role was that of structuring the simulation and moderating the debates.

• Hikma Summit of International Relations: I was part of the workshop team and of the guest team, meaning that I contributed to organizing the G20 workshop and I was responsible for inviting and moderating discussions with the guests of the Summit.

• Other: During my experience with Hikma, a student association located in Forlì, I carried out interviews with experts on different topics such as international relations, economy, and environment.

Outcome:

Each MEU and Political SImulation empowers young people to take a more active in European politics and policymaking, as well as creating a wide network of enthusiastic and committed individuals. Interviews create information that is easily available (public on social media platforms) and understandable for young people.
